FAQ
Q: Will nail enhancements damage my nails
A: No not at all ,only a unprofessional nail technician, or poor aftercare will ' wreck' your nails.
This tends to be the case quite often, which is why you may have heard some horror stories about acrylic wrecking your nails,
A lot of clients tend to bite or pry off enhancements rather than have them safely removed by a trained professional, this can result in painful nail damage.
The reason not to do this, is that the products are designed NOT to come off, but to form a strong bond with the keratin. So of course when you try to remove them with force off come layers of your nail plate with it,

Good aftercare, professional technician, and a safe removal will ensure you can wear your enhancements for many many years..with no damage whatsoever.
Q: does having nails applied hurt in any way ?
A: No it should not hurt at all , having nail enhancements  should be relaxing not painful !!
if you experience pain  you should tell the nail technician straight away ,
occasionally  you get a heat spike when your nails go in the uv lamp but it is easily rectified by removing your hand and placing it on top of the lamp

Q: Why do my nails feel weak after having enhancements removed?
A: Have you ever been out in the cold after being in a warm house ?
Did you feel the cold ?
well your nails are similar..for the time when you have nail enhancements on, your nails are protected all of a sudden they are removed.. all this feeling of weakness is, is a change of sensation. a bit like taking a jumper off outside in the middle of winter , you feel frozen .
Also if you have had them removed by a professional method, they will have been soaking in acetone for quite a while, this will also make them feel weaker than usual.
But they will be bck to normal in a couple of days , it helps to apply cuticle oil  at least 3 times a day .

Q: How do I know that I have a professional technician?

A: You can ask questions , a professional technician will be only too happy to answer them,  and if for any reason they do not know the answer (even GP's have been known to get out the medical dictionary while seeing patients ) they will find out the answer for you,

Ask to see certificates , a professional qualified technician will be only to pleased to show you them,

Ask about insurance , dont be afraid to ask these questions, you are ensuring your own safety and you have every right to do so.

she will be able to offer advice to you.
If you are experiencing and problems with a treatment you have had , such as enamel chipping, enhancements breaking or lifting, again contact your technician as soon as you can, do not be scared to ask questions your nail technician will be only to pleased to help you .

It may be that these problems are down to a simple thing that can be rectified.
Dont think you have to just put up with problems such as lifting as you dont, it is not part and parcel of having nail enhancements and it should not happen,

A professional technician will be happy to get to the root of the problem and work together with you to solve it and ensure it doesnt continue to happen.
Dont always assume that the technician is to blame, it may be something as simple as your desired shape is not suitable for your lifestyle,
Or you may be more suited to sculptured enhancements rather than tip and overlay.

Q: Should I take a break from enhancements every now and then to allow my nails to breathe ?
A: No you dont need to do this. although nails are porous, they are made up of dead keratinised cells,
They do not have tiny baby lungs, and they do NOT breathe :)
If you choose to have a break from having enhancements applied, then this is abserloutly fine.
But it will probably make no difference to your natural nails whatsoever if they are healthy to begin with.
Your nails probably feel weak after having enhancements removed,
this is usually down to two things, either you have had them soaking in acetone for quite a while, this will cause them to feel weak, just the same as when you have been sitting in the bath for a while!
or it is simply a change in sensation,
your nails have been used to having a strong overlay on them...this has now been removed.causing a FEELING of weakness...after a few days they will feel just as they always have.

Q: how long do nail enhancements last ?
A: they will last a very long time if you look after them well ! , people think nail enhancements are just something put on the nail but they do need to be looked after , by applying cuticle oil, and seeing a professional nail technician who can help you look after them will ensure you have beautiful long lasting enhancements

Q: What is the point of paying to have my nails removed professionaly?
A: Well this is a good question,
Many people seem to be under the impression that to have enhancements removed by a professional is a waste of money !!!
Well it isnt , It is money well spent, People assume that to bite or break off their enhancements is quicker, and of course cheaper....but at what cost ???
Well Of course as anyone who has ever caught a nail enhancement, or bitten one off (myself included) It HURTS !!! also there is a chance that you could permanently damage your natural nails.
Let me put it this way...

You bite off a set of nail enhancements ,.....have you seen the damage this causes..you will be left with shredded nail plates, layers and layers of nail plate will have been torn and damaged....(and this is if you have been lucky, in not taking off a whole nail plate!!!)

Now there is only a certain amount of times your poor nails will be able to take this kind of damage, before they totally give up hope,
I will not be able to apply a set of enhancements to severly damaged nails, and chance's are if you did find a technician to do this, your enhancements wouldnt last very long anyway..just resulting in more nail damage, and more frustration, and money spent out by you.

Look after your natural nails and you will be rewarded in the long run
To bulid a good structure the foundations need to be good too,
ie: if you look after your natural nails, you will be rewarded with nail enhancements that are strong and long lasting.

Q: If my nails are badly bitten can i have long enhancements ?
A: Are you used to the feeling of long nails ? A professional technician will advise you on what length to wear your nails , this is usually short for a bad nail biter  until you get used to the feeling of having nail enhancements.
